“Tumala creates an experiential space by means of using light and color, echoing the inquiry by Richard Dawkins, an evolutionary biologist. Tumala creates a site specific installation using the peculiarity of materials one of which is dichroic film, an industrial material that reacts in light like a prism refracting color and light as if it was a rainbow. In Dawkins’ talk he says “Now, my own suspicion is that the universe is not only queerer than we suppose, but queerer than we can suppose. I suspect that there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamed of, or can be dreamed of, in any philosophy.”
